This statue of Saint Martin de Porres is outside of Saint George Church on Peach Street in Erie, PA. The statue is along the border of the parking lot with four other statues of saints. The statue depicts Saint Martin in his Dominican habit holding a crucifix.

Saint Martin de Porres born in Peru in 1579 and became a lay brother of the Dominican Order in 1603. He was known for his work among the poor and for establishing an orphanage and children's hospital. He died in 1639, was beatified in 1837, and was canonized in 1962 by Pope St. John XXIII. His feast day is celebrated on November 3rd.
