Constructed in 1916, this stately brick courthouse replaced a 1905 wooden structure. Sadly, the original Texas Renaissance architectural elements of the courthouse have been lost. The annex on the south side was added in 1952. For those who search for such, there is a National Geodetic Survey benchmark disk on the courthouse.
