This is an old Indian cemetery located on the east edge of Oakland on Wiggs Avenue (Highway 70).

There is no signage at this cemetery, and its original name is not known. Local residents refer to it as Old Oakland Cemetery. The cemetery is well kept, but the condition of the headstones is very poor, with many of them toppled and corroded. The oldest burial we found was in 1890, with most of them in the late 1800's and very early 1900's. There is one burial, however, in 2013.
The cemetery is flat with many mature trees. There are no drives through the area and one must park at the entrance. We noted one Civil War veteran, and quite a few of the headstones were for children, which unfortunately was all too common in those days. There are 117 burials here.
