This very ornate cross, and tombstone was hand made, and very skilled choice of iron, wrought iron and steel...
There is no artist name, there is no resident's name...no any dates or any other information on the cross.
Talking with the sexton down the street at the church, he said there were a couple home-made tombstones ..all with out names or dates, and they think they were all from the early 1800's.
"The first Roman Catholic cemeteries in the area used wooden and wrought iron crosses. Local blacksmiths made the iron crosses, a generations-old tradition brought here by the Germans." ~ Hermann Hill Three Mile Tour
