Im August 1893 reichte der Vorstand des Schützenvereins Vanikum der Gemeindeverwaltung Rommerskirchen einen Antrag zur Gründung ein.
Der Antrag unter dem Namen Schützen-Gilde, mit den Statuten §1-§21 und dem Verzeichnis von 71 Mitgliedern wurde am 14. August 1893 eingereicht und vom Bürgermeister Kaiser gleichentags abgezeichnet.
Später setzte sich der Name Schützenverein Vanikum durch. Unter dem Einfluß der örtlichen Geistlickheit kam es 1951 zu der Bezeichnung St. Hubertus Schützenverein Vanikum 1893.
Die kleine Ortschaft Vanikum ist ein Ortsteil der Gemeinde Rommerskirchen
im Rhein-Kreis Neuss in Nordrhein-Westfalen und hat ca. 1000 Einwohner.
Vanikum liegt westlich von Rommerskirchen und steht in unmittelbarer
Nachbarschaft zu dem Braunkohlekraftwerk in Grevenbroich-Neurath.
In August 1893 the board of directors of the Vanikum rifle club submitted an application to the Rommerskirchen municipal administration to establish it.
The application under the name Schützen-Gilde, with the statutes §1-§21 and the list of 71 members was submitted on August 14, 1893 and signed by the mayor Kaiser on the same day.
Later the name Schützenverein Vanikum prevailed. Under the influence of the local clergy, the name St. Hubertus Schützenverein Vanikum 1893 was given in 1951.
The small village Vanikum is a district of the municipality
Rommerskirchen in the Rhein-Kreis Neuss in North Rhine-Westphalia and has
approx. 1000 inhabitants. Vanikum is located west of Rommerskirchen and is
in the immediate vicinity of the lignite power plant in Grevenbroich-
Neurath.
