Giant Remembrance Poppy on Douglas Head was unveiled on 5th November 2018 to mark the Centenary of the end of hostilities in the Great War. It was unveiled by His Worship the Mayor, Mr Councillor J Joughin, J.P.

The Remembrance Poppy is made from synthetic material similar to 'Astroturf'.

The Poppy is so located that it is best view from the Douglas Bay particularly when entering or existing the harbour.

There is attractively mounted information board above the Remembrance Poppy which is made of intertwined black metal 'stalk' and bright-red poppy flowers.

The information board has the following dedication.
Coat of Arm of the Douglas Corporation

"They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them."
