The planetarium is part of the University of Lund and has been in the Vattenhallen Science Center since 2010.
In 2012 the Planetarium got a major upgrade. The old optomechanical GOTO projector retired and now you will find a modern digital projector at the heart of the Planetarium. This projector is connected to a row of high-end computers that simulate what you see on the dome above you.

The planetarium can be visited by anyone and usually has 14,000 visitors a year. (To limit the spread of Covid-19, the Planetarium is currently closed to ordinary visitors. Only school classes and other groups can book a place and visit the Planetarium)
