Parallel to the estuary, the façade of the railway station that connects Santander with Bilbao broke the industrial aesthetic of Bilbao for many years to give the city a touch of romance. It was inaugurated in 1902, according to the projects of the engineer Valentín Gorbeña and the architect Severino Achúcarro, with a modernist style characterized by the use of ceramic, glass and wrought iron. It is one of the best viewpoints over the Ría.
