The
USS Batfish museum at War Memorial Park in Muskogee features the named WWII-era submarine, famous for sinking three Japanese submarines over a three-day period by homing in on their own radar emissions. There are many memorials and displays alongside the submarine, including this
3" / 50 Caliber anti-aircraft gun used throughout the war by the U.S. Navy. According to the nearby information plaque, this weapon was placed on early fleet submarines. When
Batfish was commissioned she was equipped with a 4"/50 deck gun, and that was later replaced by a 5"/25 gun.
