TP - Friedenskirche Altenbauna - Baunatal, HE-DE - German Trigonometric Points on Waymarking.com

Today's Friedenskirche took the place of an older village chapel in 1881. Their former location can be seen on a land map from 1701.

The dilapidation of this chapel was already lamented in a school chronicle of the Altenbauna teacher and cantor Friedrich Wiegand from 1879. In 1880, after long discussions and negotiations, a decision was made about the location of the current church. From June 7th to 10th, 1880, the old church was demolished and the stones for the foundation wall of the new church were walled up. The cornerstone of the current church was set on June 11, 1880. The new building of today's Friedenskirche followed, which was inaugurated on September 4, 1881.
