The book Hector Servadac by Jules Verne has been written in 1876. In the novel the adventurers think that a disaster has happened and that pieces of the Earth have been lost in the sea. The book starts in Algeria, and from that land they start a sea voyage to see what parts of the world are still intact. On this voyage they come across at a rock in the sea where Tunis used to be. The rock in uninhabited but it contains a building. The adventurers discover that the building is a marabout which houses the grave of St Louis (King Louis IX of France).
Later they discover they are upon the comet Gallia which has had a collision with Earth and has taken a few pieces out of it. After a voyage through the solar system they can reach the Earth again on a second rendez-vous of Gallia with the Earth.
In 1876 the grave of St. Louis was located on the hill of Byrsa, but the cathedral of St Louis wasn't built yet (wikipedia).
