Om hele projektet siger kunstneren, Sophia Kalkau:

Niels Bohrs atommodel

About the whole project, the artist, Sophia Kalkau says:

Niels Bohrs atomic model

The decoration of the foyer (North) is based on an unpublished manuscript by Niels Bohr, intended as an appendix to his 1913 article. Based on Bohr's molecular configurations, in Bohr's handwritten characters, I have drawn the large floor decoration. The large, black configurations are water-cut in Swedish diabase and embedded in the concrete. On the floor in the foyer is also placed a large, snow-white object, an atom - it could be the hydrogen atom, described in Bohr's article. The turned, 1600 mm large stone ball is in Yugoslav marble. The snow-white stone ball will be visible from the outside and meet the arriving as a body, a body in space. A sphere that embodies the myriads of circles of the white facade.

The windows, in the foyer, I have transformed into tall, slender window sections, twice three sections, to
create grandeur in the foyer, and at the same time also to prevent the person arriving at the building from getting the feeling of being supervised from the previously somewhat traditional police room window subjects. The tall new window sections are designed based on the Lyman series (named after Bohr's contemporaries). The window widths relate to each other as the first and the second and the last wavelength in the Lyman series and at the same time the tall windows in the foyer strike a tone that is extended in the many high window sections that the visitor will encounter inside the building.

In the vestibule, in the attic, a large circular mirror is inserted, as an iteration over the many fine circular features of the building; on the facade and in the circular skylights in the alleys. The large ceiling mirror will also create light and height in the room. In the mirror, the newcomer on the way into the building will be able to view the foyer from above. The individual can rush through the foyer or stop and observe himself among the black stone figures and the large white atom on the floor. To illuminate the foyer, milky white, frameless, submerged, circular LED lamps are proposed.
