Boomtown Bay (named for the fact that Burkburnett is a "oil boom" town stemming from the opening of the oil fields here in 1918) is a full-fledged public water park that will keep everyone busy all day. And you've got to admit that "Boomtown Bay" is a more compelling title than "Burkburnett Family Aquatic Center," which is the name of the facility on the building plaque. The water park is just across the street from Permian Park.
