The town of Crieff is situated in Perthshire at the foot of the Scottish Highlands and is known as a holiday resort town. The war memorial that serves the town and district can be found just north-west of the town centre on the apex of the main A85 Comrie Road, and the A822 Burrell Street, on small triangular garden area by the roadside.

The memorial was unveiled on November 20th 1921, having been paid for by public subscription. £1757 was raised, of which £1180 paid for the memorial.

It was designed by Dr P McGregor-Chalmers, and built by Peter Crerar, and takes the form of a sandstone Latin cross above an octagonal column set on a plinth above a raised stone platform. An inscription around the top of the plinth reads 'IN PROUD AND GRATEFUL MEMORY OF THOSE WHO FELL IN THE GREAT WAR 1914-1919'. All along the eight faces of the plinth are various bronze plaques with the names and rank of those who lost their lives. Eight plaques detail 168 names from World War I, with a further two added from World War II with 57 names. Three names were also added from the Korean War. The names from WWI are as follows:
