Het Van Bergen IJzendoornpark is een stadspark in Gouda en is genoemd naar de schenker, de Goudse burgemeester Albertus Adrianus van Bergen IJzendoorn. Deze had bij zijn overlijden in 1895 ƒ 40.000 nagelaten aan de gemeente Gouda. Het bedrag was bestemd om daarvan een wandelpark aan te leggen net buiten de toenmalige stadsbebouwing. Hij had tevens bepaald, dat het park van meerdere zijden bereikbaar zou moeten zijn. Het park is ontworpen door de tuinarchitect Hendrik Copijn als ontwerper van het park. Hij maakte in 1897 een plan voor het park in de Engelse landschapsstijl. Kenmerkend voor die stijl zijn de slingerpaden, vijvers en knuppelbruggetjes.
Vooral de knuppelbruggetjes die traditioneel gebouwd zijn van hout, met gebruikmaking van karakteristieke boomstammetjes zijn typerend voor het werk van Hendrik Copijn. De leuningen van de beide bruggen waren samengesteld uit eikenhouten stammen. In 2012 waren beide bruggen in zo'n slechte staat dat zij beide vervangen zijn door gelijkende bruggen.Bij het vervangen van de bruggen zijn er nieuwe houtsoorten toegepast. Ter vervanging van het eikenhout is gebruik gemaakt van het (hard-)houtsoort Acariquara.

De twee knuppelbruggen in het Van Bergen IJzendoornpark zijn erg geliefde locaties voor trouwfoto's en er is dan ook regelmatig een bruidspaar in het park te vinden.

The Van Bergen IJzendoorn Park is a city park in Gouda and is named after the donor, the Gouda mayor Albertus Adrianus van Bergen IJzendoorn. On his death in 1895, he left NLG 40,000 to the municipality of Gouda. The amount was intended for the construction of a pedestrian park just outside the former urban development. He had also determined that the park should be accessible from several sides. The park was designed by the landscape architect Hendrik Copijn as the designer of the park. In 1897 he made a plan for the park in the English landscape style. The winding paths, ponds and bat bridges are characteristic of this style.
Especially the bat bridges, which are traditionally built of wood, using characteristic tree trunks, are typical of the work of Hendrik Copijn. The railings of both bridges were made of oak logs. In 2012, both bridges were in such a bad condition that they were both replaced by similar bridges. New types of wood were used when the bridges were replaced. The (hard) wood type Acariquara has been used to replace the oak.

The two bat bridges in the Van Bergen IJzendoorn Park are very popular locations for wedding photos and there is regularly a bridal couple in the park.
