First UMC has a building constructed in 1980. It is located on the southwest corner of W. Harvey Avenue and S. Jefferson Avenue, at 202 W. Harvey. The sanctuary which runs north-south on Jefferson, and the Chapel on the west side have steep gable roofs and cross-gables. The educational wing running east-west has a flat roof. The buildings are constructed of white limestone blocks. The front ends of the worship areas have tall, narrow stained glass windows. A treed garden area is located between the sanctuary and the chapel on the north side.
The church has a traditional Sunday morning service at 8:45, and a contemporary service at 11:00. Sunday School class for adults and children are held at 10:00. Services are also broadcast online.
The church is involved in many community outreach programs, such as summer meals for children, Vacation Bible School, annual missionary trips. The church women meet regularly for ministry and study, and the men meet monthly for breakfast.
