Lake Saskatoon Cemetery is in the Grande Prairie Division in NW Alberta. It was first established in 1921 and is about five acres. The first interment was the four day old baby of Mr. and Mrs. Archer in August 1921. The cemetery is fenced with the cemetery sign at the main gate, there is also one small gate on the east side. The 1918 Spanish Influenza epidemic killed a number of people, and so a temporary cemetery was established, they all have been moved to this cemetery.
The Lake Saskatoon Cemetery currently lists 570 interments, however the Archer baby or other family members are not currently listed.
The cemetery seems somewhat isolated surrounded by vast open fields. There are large trees scattered throughout with a line of birch trees along the back fence line. Overall it is well maintained and is kept mowed. In 2005 a large wooden sign board was install showing the current interments.
Most of the headstone are smaller type upright stones. While walking the cemetery is becomes obvious the older interments, as they are covered with slightly curved cement encasements.
