Charles Umlauf worked out of Austin and taught art at the University of Texas in Austin. He had his art ins all major city of Texas, mostly Austin, Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio, but also scattered in smaller towns as well. Lots of his sculptures also were purchased by private collections or by individuals who just liked his style of sculpting. He tended to create a more modern or minimalist style of sculptures rather than classical style.
This religious bronze relief is more traditional sacred art style, which still has enough Umlauf influence in it to identify it as his work. His first initial and last name are scribed in the lower proper right corner of the work as C. UMLAUF.

DIFFERENCES NOTED BETWEEN THE INVENTORY LISTING AND YOUR OBSERVATIONS AND RESEARCH: The SIRIS description is correct but not complete. There are two beings on Christ's left as described and two on his left as described. What is not described are the tops of two people's heads nearest his feet and each had hands shown folded as in prayer. All that is shown is the tops of two heads and forearms with hands folded in prayer.
SIRIS states there are four people by his feet, but really there are six: two in each corner and two in the middle at the bottom.
The correct physical address of the Christ Episcopal Church is also incorrect in the SIRIS listing. The church address is at 510 Belknap Place.
