Reginald Mitchell Primary School was originally called Butt Lane Primary School but the name of the school was changed in 1951 as a lasting tribute to Reginald Mitchell, the designer of the Spitfire fighter aeroplane.
Mitchell was born very close to the school and it was hoped that his immense contribution to our country would inspire future generations.http://reginaldmitchell.staffs.sch.uk/
