The Soldiers Monument in Plymouth, CT is a gray granite obelisk which is approximately 20' high by 4.5' square. The obelisk rests on top of a 15" high granite plinth. It was created by an unknown sculptor and believed to be erected soon after the Civil War in 1865.

The obelisk has inscribed dadoes on all four sides and four cannon carved in recessed niches at the corners of the dado.

In a recessed panel on the front of the monument is inscribed in raised capital letters:
