Vandel railroad started in 1897 and went from Vejle Train Station to Vandel. In 1914 it was extended to Grindsted. The railroad was closed in 1957. A small train, called the Vandel Pig, drove the townspeople out into the countryside so they could go on an excursion in the beautiful, rural surroundings.
In addition, freight trains carried agricultural goods as well as cattle and pigs.
Here at Ravning there was a small station which was served by one person. Today, the building is used for a historical exhibition building about the building Ravningbroen which is also here on the site, as well as pictures of the Vandel Railroad.
