The sign is one of a series highlighting the different species of birds that one may encounter along the James W McIntyre Trail.
The American robin (Turdus migratorius) is a migratory songbird of the true thrush genus and Turdidae, the wider thrush family. American Robins are a fairly large songbirds with a large, round body, long legs, and a fairly long tail. Robins are common across the continent in yards, garden, parks, golf courses, fields, pastures, tundra as well as forests, and shrublands.
