Article text: "Oklahomans can now buy bitcoins at a south Oklahoma City bitcoin ATM.
Texas-based Coinsource installed a bitcoin ATM in Oklahoma City at Speed Mart 1, 3462 SW 29, according to a news release. The machine will be accessible 24 hours a day, the company said.
Bitcoin is a virtual currency, and bitcoin ATMs allow a person to use cash to buy bitcoins or sell bitcoins to get cash. Users will only be able to buy bitcoins at the Oklahoma City ATM, and one bitcoin can be bought at $2,994.63, according to the company's website.
Coinsource machines only accept cash. A user can put in cash and receive an equivalent amount in bitcoin, meaning the customer doesn't have to buy a whole bitcoin.
“We are thrilled to give the people of Oklahoma City cheap and easy access to our generation's hottest asset,” Coinsource CEO Sheffield Clark said in a statement. “The trend we've noticed over the last six months is holding true; more people are leaving behind the complexity of digital asset exchanges and opting to buy and sell bitcoin at physical, conveniently placed machines.”
Clark said the company plans to install more machines in Oklahoma City and Tulsa. The location of the first ATM was chosen because it is midway between Will Rogers World Airport and the city center.
This is Coinsource's 121st machine, according to the release. The company has installed 50 machines since January and has ATMs in New York, Texas, California, Louisiana, Missouri and other states, according to the release.
In addition to ATMs, bitcoins can also be purchased at online exchanges."
