In the late 1800s, the Chisholm Trail ran north/south between Abilene Kansas and Lockhart, Texas. The Santa Fe Trail went from Independence, Missouri to Santa Fe, New Mexico. The trails would have crossed somewhere about 10 miles or so south of Abilene, but nowhere near Edmond, Oklahoma.
