"The former Cross Street M.E. Church stands at the other end of the block at the southwest corner of Cross and Cleveland Streets. Now called the Southern Friendship Baptist Church, the simple one-story structure has its gable-end and entrance facing Cross Street and runs back along Cleveland three bays. A pair of tall, pointed arch windows flank a central doorway, itself framed by a tall, pointed arch, set beneath a large oculus filled with stained glass. The small building has been covered with formstone."
