Zonly Looman is a local artist whose work is fast becoming well known. In the few years he has exhibited, he has a long list of exhibits and awards. His work is bold and colorful and much of it reflects his Native American heritage.
This piece stands in the shade in front of his gallery. It depicts wings, and is made of numerous metal slats, rounded at each end. There is no plaque describing the artwork, so we would only be able to guess whether these are angel wings, or eagle wings, and perhaps another Native American symbol. It is painted white and is quite striking. On second thought, Zonly is very active in a local organization called Wings, which is dedicated to enhancing the lives of developmentally challenged adults. My guess is, this is the inspiration for this piece of artwork.
