There were once over one hundred small school houses in Marshall County. Harbaugh School, which served School District 44, served from 1870 to 1958. There is a small monument at the southeast corner of the property. The exterior of the school is in pretty good condition; I was not able to look into the interior. There is a small equipment shed behind the school, and what might be the original outhouse to the west. Harbaugh Cemetery is just to the north.
