Saint Michael Church is located on North High Street in Greenville, Pennsylvania. The original church building was built in 1848, but was replaced by the current building about 40 years later. Ground was broken for the new church building in 1889, the cornerstone was laid in 1890, and the church was dedicated on June 25, 1893. The old church building was converted into a school building. A plaque on the front of the church building notes that Saint Michael Church is "affiliated with the most holy archbasilica of St. John Lateran, Rome, mother and head of all the churces of Christendom, enjoying all spiritual rights and privileges proper to this cathedral of Rome." Saint Michael's is still a very vibrant parish in the region of western Pennsylvania, and includes the Church of Saint Margaret, a mission church in Jamestown, Pennsylvania.
