This Civil War memorial appears to have been erected some time before the Great War, and was set "In Memory of Our Nation's Defenders." In 1990 the statue was restored (whether from the ravages of time or vandalism is unknown) and rededicated to all veterans, so it is now a non-specific veterans memorial.
