The granite marker says, "This monument pays tribute to the sacrifices made by Gold Star Families who lost a Loved One in military service to the United States of America.

The heritage and patriotism of the State of Delaware is depicted in the first panel; site of Delawares annual Memorial Day Service.

The second panel represents the loss borne of our Gold Star Families and the silent scars of war.

The third panel represents the inspiration and courage of our Armed Forces.

The fourth panel represents the honor and remembrance paid to our fallen and the brotherhood forged of three friends who now rest side-by-side.
