Clayton Cemetery is located on S. Mehan Road, just south of 86th Street. The cemetery is divided by a chain link fence across the middle. The south section is a black cemetery and heavily wooded. The north section has only a few trees. Both sections are not maintained as the cemetery is no longer in use. There are 135 burials here.

The wood cemetery sign indicates the cemetery was established in 1890. The oldest headstone dates back to December 30, 1891 for George DeWitt. There are 5 or 6 which date in the 1940s, one in 1951 and the latest burial was on January 30, 1994 for Kerry Dean Fulton. The Find a Grave website indicates that the black section has many burials from the Old Morehead Plantation.
