Located in Nash Square in downtown Raleigh is Berkeley the Squirrel with an acorn. Raleigh is known as 'The City of Oaks'. An 85" in diameter Willow Large Oak in this park estimated to be about 120 years old was deteriorating and breaking apart with each storm. The city cut the tree down and had artist Corey Lancaster create a work of art from the wood. Berkeley stands about 6 foot tall and is holding an acorn. He is sitting on top of a stump.
