This is a small mom-and-pop establishment that has been around since the late 1970s, and they have many times won "Best Hamburger and Fries in Denton" in a poll conducted by the Denton Record-Chronicle. The flagship store was on the Denton Courthouse Square, and this location, complete with drive-thru, was opened in 1988. The main location was sold in 2012, to become LSA Burger Co, another candidate for "Best Burger in Town", and this one remains. The current owner was a customer for some years before he purchased the restaurant in 2018.
They'll greet you at the door and ask if you're dining in or if your order is to-go. Service is cafeteria style, and they'll put everything together for you. There's a condiment bar up at the front of the restaurant if you need any extras.
They keep it simple here, with just a few choices, like the Old Fashioned, the Cheeseburger, the Hickory Burger, and the Chili Burger, and you can always make it a double or customize it with bacon, mushrooms, or jalapeños. You can also get a chicken sandwich, hot dogs, a steak sandwich, or a chicken fried steak sandwich, and they even have a few salad options, with or without protein. When you're dining in, you can get all the hand-cut fries and beans you like to go with your burger, and they've got a few varieties of ice cream from local favorite, Beth Marie's. That's probably tough for a to-go order, but Beth Marie's is just a few minutes away...
