Marcel Heuzé est né le 16 décembre 1897 au Havre. Il est d’abord pasteur à Lens de 1926 à 1939, puis part à Marseille.
En 1943, à l'issue d'une cérémonie d'enterrement, dans une conversation privée avec les enfants de la défunte, il critique la brutalité des nazis qui viennent d’évacuer le Vieux Port. Il est dénoncé par ces derniers, puis est arrêté peu après le 27 février 1943. Il passe plusieurs mois à la prison Saint-Pierre de Marseille. Il est placé avec les détenus juifs et célèbre pour eux des cultes et forme des groupes de dialogue.
Déporté, il arrive au camp de Buchenwald le 18 septembre (matricule 21 242, détenu politique). Rapidement il est affecté au Kommando de Dora, en novembre 1943, où il reste jusqu’au début d’avril 1945. Il y fera la rencontre des deux pasteurs Yves Crespin et Henri Orange, avec qui il célèbre la Pâques 1944.
En 1945, il est évacué vers Ravensbrück et meurt d’épuisement dans ce trajet, probablement le 26 avril 1945.
Marcel Heuzé a été distingué de la Médaille de la Résistance française à titre posthume (1960).
La plaque en marbre mesure environ 50 x 50 cm. Elle est placée sur le mur d'enceinte, directement à droite du portail d'entrée principal. Ainsi placée, la plaque fait face au château de Luynes, qui surplombe la vallée de la Loire de son éperon rocheux.

Marcel Heuzé was born on December 16, 1897 in Le Havre. He was first a pastor in Lens from 1926 to 1939, then moved to Marseille.
In 1943, after a burial ceremony, in a private conversation with the children of the deceased, he criticized the brutality of the Nazis who had just evacuated the Old Port. He was denounced by the latter, then arrested shortly after February 27, 1943. He spent several months in Saint-Pierre prison in Marseille. He is placed with the Jewish prisoners and celebrates for them cults and forms dialogue groups.
Deported, he arrived at the Buchenwald camp on September 18 (registration number 21 242, political detainee). He was quickly assigned to the Kommando de Dora in November 1943, where he remained until the beginning of April 1945.
