You'll find this tree in the garden on the north side of the Bayless-Selby House, and the dedication plaque is almost buried in the bed at the base of the tree. It reads:
White Crepe Myrtle
Lagerstroemia indica
Donated by
Meador Nursery
In memory of
Eola Ricks
------
It's pretty common that "crepe" -- something you might have for breakfast -- is confused with the correct spelling, "crape". While there are a few hits on Google for Eola Ricks in the Denton area, there's nothing specific, and the only "Eola Ricks" listed on Findgrave is buried in California, with no mention of Texas in his obituary.
Location of the tree: Denton County Historical Park
Type of tree: White Crape Myrtle
