The grave is at Holy Cross Cemetery in the city of Colma. The sculpture is of St Francis and is similar to others he's done in San Francisco. The saint is cartoonish and has his arms stretched out. He's wearing a cloak. On the cloak is a mosiac done by artist Alfonso Pardinas. The mosaic is of a bare tree with birds of different colors on it. The plaque on the stone base, reads:
"Saint Francis — Prince of Peace
To the human congregation of the United Nations

Make me an instrument of thy peace

Where there is doubt, faith
