A rectangular brass memorial tablet for Lance Corporal Harold Robertson Kissack can be found in St. Mary de Ballaugh (New Church) on Station Road in Ballaugh.
The memorial tablet is mounted on a wooden board and can be found between the second and third windows from the front of the church on the north side of the nave:
The tablet carries the following dedication:
"In loving remembrance
of
Harold Robertson Kissack
L. Corporal Princess Patricia's C. L. Infantry
third son of the above
who laid down his life near Parvillers
12th August 1918 aged 40 years.
"he that loseth his life for My sake shall find it"This memorial tablet is mounted directly below that for his father Edward William Kissack B.A.
More information about Harold’s life and his loss were reported in the Isle of Man Examiner newspaper on Saturday 7th September 1918 and is reproduced below:
"Lance Corporal Harold Robertson Kissack was killed in action on 12th August. He was 36 years of age, and the third son of the late Canon Kissack, formerly Rector of Ballaugh, brother of Mrs Teare, Ballaneddin, Ballaugh, and nephew of Miss Kissack, Cronk-ma-Chree, Port St Mary. He was born at Rushen Vicarage during his father’s nine years’ Vicariate of that parish, and he joined up about two years ago at Pitcher's Creek, Alberta, Canada. He was a member of the North-Western Mounted Police, and owned a ranch at Pinchers Creek; and acted as a Justice of the Peace. He was unmarried and left the Island thirteen years ago. Prior to emigrating he was a clerk at Lloyds Bank. Lance Corporal Kissack was killed instantaneously and was buried behind the lines two days later."
