Located south of Moore Haven, Florida on the east side of US Highway 27 and south of County Road 720 is a solitary silo. There is a nearby abandoned building that is not attached to the silo. A turn in area for the abandoned building can be utilized for parking to take photographs. Photos can be easily taken from the right-of-way without trespassing on the property. Do not park on the side of the road, this is a heavy traffic area for large trucks traveling at high speeds. Try to use the abandoned building drive in for parking.
The silo is constructed of galvanized steel sheeting with a conical roof. A large indent is starting just below the roof line indicating structural weakening. A ladder on the southern side of the silo goes to the roof area. Thick grass surrounds the silo, hint, watch for snakes.
