Currently home to the Ocean Tides Providence Campus, an alternative day school in Rhode Island, the building from 1924 has separate entrances labeled GIRLS and BOYS.
The three story school has six bays of windows across the main façade along Highland Avenue. The differentiated entrances are at the north (boys) and south (girls) ends of the building. Above each arched doorway, a carved granite block denoting a gender is incorporated among the light brown bricks. Aside from being an out-of-date moral code, the program serves only male students, so it may be safe to presume there is no enforcement of the social tradition.
