Our city is advancing in the information society, and it does so in a pioneering way, with the installation of a wireless Internet access network (wi-fi network) that is part of the Avilés digital city project and which has involved a municipal investment of 240,000 euros.
This wi-fi technology, which is already being used all over the world in cities such as Philadelphia, San Francisco or Taipei, also joins the already existing one also as an initiative of Aviles Digital City in the Port of Avilés, to date the Largest wireless network of this type in Asturias and the third largest in Europe in port areas.
