[EN] The Park Hotel is a boutique hotel housed in an old Art Nouveau house from 1902. The building is also good looking, but the iron gate to its yard is quite special and commissioned for the hotel.
At the top of the gate is a curved "Park Hotel" text. Below it is the silhouette of Turku Castle, perhaps Turku's most famous tourist attraction. The castle has the old letter Å from the city coat of arms. In addition to this, there is a large hotel initials in the middle of the gate.
The gate is large and in one piece certainly weighs a lot. It is usually kept open in the courtyard to allow hotel guests to access the hotel’s main entrance. There is also a separate smaller gate for pedestrians at the same point. Of course, the gate is not as old as the house, but it was apparently not completed until 1984, when the hotel began operations.
[FIN] Park Hotel on boutique-hotelli joka toimii vanhassa 1902 valmistuneessa jugend-talossa. Rakennuskin on hieno, mutta sen pihalle vielä rautaportti on varsin erikoinen ja teetetty hotellia varten.
Portin yläosassa on kaareva "Park Hotel" teksti. Sen alla on Turun ehkä kuuluisimman turistinähtävyyden Turun Linnan silhuetti. Linnasta löytyy vielä vanha kaupungin vaakunan Å-kirjain. Vielä tämän lisäksi on portin keskiosassa suurikokoisena hotellin nimikirjaimet.
Portti on kookas ja yksiosaisena painaa varmasti paljon. Sitä pidetään yleensä auki pihalle, jotta hotellin vieraat pääsevät hotellin pääsisäänkäynnin luokse. Samassa kohdassa on myös erillinen pienempi portti jalankulkijoille. Portti ei toki ole yhtä vanha kuin talo, vaan se on valmistunut ilmeisesti vasta vuonna 1984 jolloin hotelli aloitti toimintansa.
