DE: Das Freibad in Wacken wird vom lokalen Förderverein unterhalten, eröffnet wird das Freibad jährlich Anfang Juni und schließt seine Pforten Ende August. Schwimmzeiten sind in der Woche jeweils von 14 bis 19 Uhr, am Wochenende und in den Sommerferien von 13 bis 19 Uhr. Während der Wacken-Open-Air Festival-Woche (üblicherweise zum ersten Wochenende im August) ist das Freibad zwischen 8 Uhr und 19 Uhr für die Metalheads geöffnet, der Eintritt liegt bei 3.00 Euro.

Es gibt zwei direkt aneinander liegende Becken von 20m x 50m, in der nördlichen Hälfte ist der Nichtschwimmerbereich untergebracht, die Wassertiefe liegt bei 60cm am Rand und etwa 120cm an der Grenze zum Schwimmerbecken. Am westlichen Ende befindet sich zudem eine gestiftete Rutsche aus Metall.

Im Schwimmerbecken beträgt die Wassertiefe bei den Startblöcken im Westen etwa 180cm, die bis zu 380cm an der östlichen Seite absinkt, um einen gefahrlosen Sprung vom dort angebrachten Sprungturm mit 3m-Brett zu ermöglichen.

Im südlichen Bereich des Geländes befindet sich auch noch ein rundes, etwa 10m durchmessendes Becken für Kleinkinder mit einer maximalen Wassertiefe von 20cm. Auf der Liegewiese wurde zudem ein Platz zum Spielen von Beachvolleyball eingerichtet. Getränke, kleine Snacks und Pommes kann man in dem Kiosk auf dem Gelände erwerben.

EN: The outdoor pool in Wacken is maintained by the local development association, the outdoor pool opens annually at the beginning of June and closes its doors at the end of August. In the swimmer's pool, the water depth at the starting blocks in the west is about 180cm, which sinks to 380cm on the eastern side, in order to enable a safe jump from the diving tower with 3m board attached there.

In the southern area of the site there is also a round pool, about 10m in diameter, for small children with a maximum water depth of 20cm. A place for playing beach volleyball has also been set up on the lawn. Drinks, small snacks and French fries can be bought in the kiosk on the premises.
