C.W. Eckersberg (1783-1853) lagde grunden til den danske guldalders malerkunst. Hans elever hørte til periodens ypperste kunstnere som Christen Købke, Martinus Rørbye, Wilhelm Bendz og Constantin Hansen, og derfor betragtes han som en af den danske guldalders hovedpersoner.

Dette billede malet i 1809 forestiller Djævlekløften, som man passerer når man går fra slotsparken og ned til stranden lidt nord for Møns Klint. Fra koordinatet skal man se mod vest.

Maleriet befinder sig på Statens Museum for Kunst sal 217C.

C.W. Eckersberg (1783-1853) laid the foundation for the Danish golden age of painting. His students were among the finest artists of the period, such as Christen Købke, Martinus Rørbye, Wilhelm Bendz and Constantin Hansen, and therefore he is considered one of the main characters of the Danish golden age.

This picture painted in 1809 depicts the Devil's Gorge, which you pass when you walk from the castle park and down to the beach a little north of Møns Klint. From the coordinate you have to look to the west.

The painting is in the Statens Museum for Kunst hall 217C.
