Seit der Eröffnung im September 2017 bietet das URBAN NATION MUSEUM FOR URBAN CONTEMPORARY ART in wechselnden Ausstellungen den BesucherInnen einen vielfältigen Einblick in die Geschichte der Urban Contemporary Art.
Mit dieser bislang einzigartigen Plattform für urbane Kunst in Berlin will die Stiftung Berliner Leben, die diese Initiative ins Leben gerufen hat, den Austausch mit der Nachbarschaft und die Vermittlung von Kultur und Kunst unterstützen. Insbesondere Jugendliche sollen auf diese Weise inspiriert und gefördert werden.
URBAN NATION und das URBAN NATION Museum ist eine Initiative der gemeinnützigen Stiftung Berliner Leben, die von der Gewobag AG gegründet wurde. Durch die Arbeit von URBAN NATION soll der kreative Austausch zwischen Kunstschaffenden und Berliner*innen gefördert, sowie die Integration und die Partizipation durch kulturelle Bildungsangebote in den Berliner Kiezen unterstützt werden.
Die Initiative gibt es bereits seit 2013. Seitdem wurden zahlreiche Künstler*innen nach Berlin eingeladen, um an verschiedenen Orten Murals zu gestalten und dadurch Kunst im urbanen Raum für alle erlebbar zu machen. Noch ohne festen Ausstellungsraum wurden bereits die ersten ONE WALLS (Murals) in Berlin realisiert. Das ONE WALL Programm wird nach wie vor weitergeführt und knüpft an die in der gesamten Stadt (im Ost- und Westteil) präsente Tradition der Wandmalerei und des Muralismus an. Soziale und gesellschaftliche Themen spielen bei der Auswahl der Motive und Künstler*innen immer wieder eine Rolle.
Ein weiterer regelmäßiger Präsentationsort für die vor Ort geschaffenen Arbeiten der Künstler*innen waren damals die Schaufenster eines Möbelgeschäfts in der Bülowstraße 7, in dem sich heute das Urban Nation Museum for Urban Contemporary Art befindet.

Since opening in September 2017, the URBAN NATION MUSEUM FOR URBAN CONTEMPORARY ART has been offering visitors a diverse insight into the history of Urban Contemporary Art in changing exhibitions.
With this so far unique platform for urban art in Berlin, the Berlin Life Foundation, which launched this initiative, wants to support the exchange with the neighborhood and the communication of culture and art. Young people in particular should be inspired and encouraged in this way.
URBAN NATION and the URBAN NATION Museum is an initiative of the non-profit foundation Berliner Leben, which was founded by Gewobag AG. The work of URBAN NATION is intended to promote the creative exchange between artists and Berliners, and to support integration and participation through cultural educational offers in Berlin's neighborhoods.
The initiative has existed since 2013. Since then, numerous artists have been invited to Berlin to create murals in various locations and thereby make art in urban space tangible for everyone. The first ONE WALLS (murals) have already been realized in Berlin without a permanent exhibition space. The ONE WALL program is still being continued and ties in with the tradition of wall painting and muralism that is present throughout the city (in the east and west). Social and societal issues always play a role in the selection of motifs and artists.
Another regular presentation location for the works created by the artists on site was the window of a furniture store at Bülowstrasse 7, which is now the Urban Nation Museum for Urban Contemporary Art.
