History of Mark:
One of the first major trails to open up the west to settlement. This trail connected with the Boone's Lick Trail in Franklin MO. (Not today's Franklin but the town washed away by the Missouri River 100 years ago). The two trails provided a direct route to the western land from the Missouri River landings in St. Charles.
