Op het plein rond de Eusebiuskerk staat een Joods monument
Met een monument herdenkt Arnhem een inktzwarte bladzijde in zijn geschiedenis. Het vestigt de aandacht op het wegvoeren van 1.500 Arnhemse Joden naar concentratiekampen. ‘slechts weinigen keerden terug naar hun Arnhem’, staat te lezen op de sokkel.

'Het Joods monument verbeeldt een koffer als symbool voor het wegvoeren van Joden en een Thora-rol als symbool van de Joodse traditie. Het monument is gelegen aan de Kippenmarkt/Jonas Daniel Meijerplaats in het centrum van Arnhem en werd onthuld op 17 november 2019. Dit monument gedenkt de ongeveer 1.500 Arnhemse Joden die tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog (1940-1945) door de Duitsers werden vermoord.
Het monument ter nagedachtenis aan de destijds gedeporteerde Arnhemse Joden is ook bedoeld om komende generaties te waarschuwen voor de verschrikkingen van antisemitisme en racisme.
Bij de totstandkoming van het monument en de officiële onthulling is nauw samengewerkt met de derde klassen van het Thomas a Kempis College. In het schooljaar 2018/2019 is door ongeveer 280 derdeklassers een historisch en toekomstgericht project gerealiseerd over antisemitisme en racisme. Immers: wie de jeugd heeft, heeft de toekomst.'

'The Jewish monument depicts a suitcase as a symbol for the deportation of Jews and a Torah scroll as a symbol of Jewish tradition. The memorial is located at the Kippenmarkt/Jonas Daniel Meijerplaats in the center of Arnhem and was unveiled on November 17, 2019. This memorial commemorates the approximately 1,500 Arnhem Jews who were murdered by the Germans during the Second World War (1940-1945).
The monument in memory of the Arnhem Jews who were deported at the time is also intended to warn future generations against the horrors of anti-Semitism and racism.
During the realization of the monument and the official unveiling, there was close collaboration with the third grades of Thomas a Kempis College. In the 2018/2019 school year, about 280 third-graders realized a historical and future-oriented project about anti-Semitism and racism. After all, whoever has the youth has the future.'
