Het pand op de Weverstraat 40 is een voormalig bankgebouw van de Arnhemsche Bank, na 1907 het onderkomen van de Arnhemsche Verzekeringsmaatschappij en thans in gebruik als Dansacademie van de Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Arnhem. Het pand is gebouwd in het eerste decennium van de twintigste eeuw in overgangsarchitectuur met elementen van de Art Nouveau en het rationalisme.

Het monumentale voormalige bankgebouw aan de Weverstraat 40 krijgt een zeer bijzondere bestemming. Sinds begin 2016 is het gebouw eigendom van Collectie de Groen. Collectie de Groen is een initiatief van Marjolein de Groen en Peter Jordaan. In dit prachtige gebouw zullen zij hun groeiende verzameling hedendaagse beeldende kunst toegankelijk maken voor het publiek. .

Op de begane grond van het collectiegebouw komt een ruimte voor horeca (met terras op het voorplein) en wisselende tentoonstellingen. Op de bovenste twee verdiepingen zullen door rondleidingen alle kunstwerken uit de collectie maar ook dit unieke gebouw zichtbaar worden voor het publiek. Sinds half augustus wordt er hard gewerkt aan de verbouwing.

The building at 40 Weverstraat is a former bank building of the Arnhemsche Bank, after 1907 the home of the Arnhemsche Verzekeringsmaatschappij and currently used as the Dance Academy of the Arnhem School of the Arts. The property was built in the first decade of the twentieth century in transitional architecture with elements of Art Nouveau and rationalism.

The monumental former bank building at 40 Weverstraat will be given a very special purpose. Since the beginning of 2016, the building has been owned by Collectie de Groen. Collection de Groen is an initiative of Marjolein de Groen and Peter Jordaan. In this beautiful building they will make their growing collection of contemporary visual art accessible to the public. .

On the ground floor of the collection building there will be a space for catering (with a terrace on the forecourt) and changing exhibitions. On the top two floors, all works of art from the collection, as well as this unique building, will become visible to the public through guided tours. Since mid-August, hard work has been done on the renovation.
