The monument is composed of a bronze bust at the top of a column representing Charles Floquet wearing a shirt and looking up, with Marianne at the foot standing on a staircase next to a funeral wreath and a palm branch. She wears a long tunic dress and a Phrygian cap and looks at the politician; she is laying an oak wreath with her right hand while the left leans on a fasces. The monument is due to the sculptor Dalou (1838-1902) and the founder Thiébaut. It was installed in 1899.
"Thomas Charles Floquet (1828 - 1896) was a French politician, lawyer at the Paris bar, several times deputy, prefect, senator, minister and president of the Council. His involvement in the Panama scandal put an end to his career." (

"Marianne has been the national personification of the French Republic since the French Revolution, as a personification of liberty, equality, fraternity and reason, as well as a portrayal of the Goddess of Liberty." (

The inscription on the column, which is difficult to read, says: "CHARLES FLOQUET / 1828 - 1896 / and HORTENSE FLOQUET / NÉE KESTNER / 1840 - 1913"
