DE: Auf der Insel Rømø gibt es nur wenige Möglichkeiten, den eigenen Hund frei laufen zu lassen. Dazu gehören die breiten Strände bei Lakolk und an der Südspitze der Insel, allerdings nur zwischen Anfang Oktober und Anfang April. In der restlichen Zeit und in den Waldbereichen entlang der Wanderrouten gilt dagegen Leinenpflicht.
Um den Vierbeinern die Möglichkeit zu geben, ohne Leine herumzulaufen, wurde bereits in den 1990er Jahren ein Waldgebiet von etwa 250m Länge und etwa 100m Breite in der Waldregion "Kirkeby Plantage" zwischen den Ortschaften Kongsmark und Kirkeby eingezäunt. Der Zugang erfolgt vom etwa 40m westlich gelegenen Parkplatz aus (Listing Koordinate) durch ein hölzernes Tor. Ein weiteres Tor befindet sich am nordwestlichen Ende der Anlage am Wanderpfad (N 55° 07.241 E 008° 32.546). Hundekotbeutel können am Eingang zur Fläche bezogen und auch im nahe dem Eingang stehenden Mülleimer entsorgt werden.

EN: On the island of Rømø there are only a few opportunities to let your own dog run free. These include the wide beaches at Lakolk and on the southern tip of the island, but only between the beginning of October and the beginning of April. In order to give the four-legged friends the opportunity to walk around without a leash, a forest area about 250m long and about 100m wide was fenced in in the forest region "Kirkeby Plantage" between the villages of Kongsmark and Kirkeby.
