Butterfly Wings - Edmond, OK - Interactive Wing Displays on Waymarking.com

A colorful wings mural is on the back wall (south side) of Sanctuary Comics, at the southeast corner of Ayers and Broadway. The mural is about 10' x 20', but the wings themselves are about 8' wide and 6' high. There are so many splashes of color on this mural, with a mostly pink background. The wings at the center are the focal point.

“Your Wings” by Ashlyn Faulkner from Tulsa, OK. Ashlyn was a painter, muralist and creative. Known for painterly realism and juxtapositions of nature and cerebral imagery. We love the butterfly and interactive component. This is a great mural for photo ops! This mural was one of fifteen murals added to the public art collection during the Sunny Dayz Mural Festival in Edmond in 2022; a total of thirty-one murals were installed. The mission Sunny Dayz Mural Fest (SDMF) is to empower, elevate, and celebrate women and nonbinary artists through the creation and advocacy of public art. Although women make up nearly 50% of working artists, they are underdog in the arts. Prior to the Sunny Dayz Mural Festival only 14% of Edmond’s murals were by women. Thanks to SDMF the scales have tipped. Purchased through the Edmond Visual Arts Commission (EVAC) with a private donor/public matching fund program called Art in Public Places. The donors were Sunny Dayz Mural Fest and the OK Mural Syndicate.
